Urbana Volleyball Adds Indian Lake's Jones

URBANA, Ohio (April 24, 2012) – Today, Urbana University Head Volleyball Coach Troy Haught introduced Indian Lake High School’s Maci Jones as the team’s newest addition to the 2012 roster.

“The UU volleyball program is very excited to add Maci to the roster,” announced Haught upon Jones’ signing.  “She is a very versatile player and will be able to help in the front and back rows.”

Jones has experience playing both outside hitter and defensive specialist for the Lakers.  She began playing volleyball 8 years ago, and this past season as a senior, she finished with 223 kills, 211 digs, and 29 blocks.  As a hitter, Jones owned a respectable .268 kill efficiency.  She served 61 aces while sporting a serve efficiency of 84%.  Jones earned First Team All-CBC and First Team All-District 9 honors for her efforts.

Maci is the daughter of Jon and Traci Jones.  She has two other siblings.  At this time, she is undecided about her major at Urbana University.

Added Haught, “After meeting with Maci and her parents, I could tell she has a love for the game of volleyball and is willing to come in and work hard to help the program.”

Urbana opens the 2012 season at the Fairmont State Invitational on the Friday and Saturday of Labor Day weekend.  Their first home match is set for Tuesday, September 4th at 7:00 p.m. against West Virginia State University.
