Arrows Pierce Blue Knights 1-0
RUSSELL TOWNSHIP, Ohio (October 28, 2012) - On a cold, rainy Sunday afternoon at Ursuline College, the Blue Knight women's soccer team couldn't find a way to break through the miserable weather and Arrow defense in a 1-0 conference loss in the regular season finale.
The Arrows got the deciding goal in the 76th minute. Amanda Levaskevich scored her second goal of the season unassisted for the game-winner. UU keeper Meghan Taucher made 9 saves in the loss. Abby Pearson led the Blue Knights with 5 shots, including 2 on goal.
The loss drops the Blue Knights to the 4-seed in next Friday's G-MAC Tournament. A pair of narrow 1-0 losses to Trevecca Nazarene and Ursuline means Urbana will enter the conference tournament as the ultimate underdog. Overall, Urbana sits at 8-8-2. The Blue Knights will face top-seeded Trevecca Nazarene in Game 2 of Friday's action in Nashville. Ursuline earned the 3-seed with Sunday's win, finishing the conference slate 1-2-0. The Arrows are 10-5-0 overall. They end their regular season on Tuesday night. [Box Score]
