#11 Charleston Edges UU in OT

CHARLESTON, West Virginia (September 30, 2012) - For the first time in 23 days and 6 games, the Urbana University men's soccer team lost on Sunday afternoon.  The 11th ranked Golden Eagles from the University of Charleston got a golden goal in the first overtime to down the Blue Knights 1-0.

The game-winning goal came in the 96th minute on a corner kick.  Rob Vincent's pass found Dan Walmsley in a crowd in front of Darragh McGinley's goal, and Walmsley banged it home for the win.  McGinley had been superb in goal, finishing with 13 saves before the Golden Eagles got the game-winner by him.  At the start of the week, McGinley was third in the country in D-II in saves.  He tallied 13 or more saves in both of Urbana's contests this week.

Charleston remains undefeated with the win, improving to 6-0-2 on the year.  Urbana, who is now 1-1-1 against ranked opponents this season, falls to 6-3-1 overall.  Next Saturday, the Blue Knights battle another undefeated nationally ranked team when the 4th ranked Gannon Golden Knights make the trip to Urbana.  Two years ago, the 12th ranked Golden Knights fell at UU 3-1.  Next Sauday's game is slated for 1:00 p.m. [Box Score]
