Men's Soccer Downs OVU 3-1

VIENNA, West Virginia (September 19, 2012) - On the heels of a tie with the 22nd ranked team in the country, the Urbana University men's soccer team picked up its fourth win of the season on Wednesday afternoon at Ohio Valley University.  The Blue Knights raced out to a 3-0 lead and held on for the 3-1 win over the Fighting Scots.

Tyler Wason (pictured) scored his 7th goal in as many games to put the Blue Knights on top 1-0 in the 11th minute.  Less than ten minutes later, Yves Nzwanga put the visitors up 2-0 on an assist from Carl Peers.  The lead extended to 3-0 before the first half ended on Joey Thouvenot's first collegiate goal in the 37th minute.  Wason tallied his team-leading third assist on the goal.

Urbana goalkeeper Darragh McGinley left with a 3-0 lead in the 84th minute.  The Scots scored their only goal with 51 seconds left on the clock.  Before exiting the game, McGinley added 3 saves to his season total.  He currently leads Division II with 47 saves.

On Saturday, Urbana travels to Trevecca Nazarene University for a G-MAC matchup.  Both the Blue Knights and Trojans are 1-0 in conference play.  Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. in Nashville. [Box Score]
