Mendenhall, O-Line Honored by BSN
URBANA, Ohio (October 9, 2012) - Junior quarterback D.J. Mendenhall and the entire Blue Knight offensive line earned Division II Player of the Week honors today from Beyond Sports Network. The award is the second of the season for Mendenhall, who was also named a pre-season All-American by BSN. The offensive line were named Division II's best in Week 6. It's their first weekly award since being named the Blue Knights of the Week after Week 2 of last season.
Mendenhall accounted for over 400 total yards of offense and 6 touchdowns in the Blue Knights' 74-0 rout of GLVC Conference foe Kentucky Wesleyan College. He also earned GLVC Offensive Player of the Week accolades for his effort.
The Urbana offensive line (pictured below), led by starters Alex Maxson, Andrew Minda, Kyle Wallace, Scott Porter, Ethan Oakley, and tight end Matt Nowak, helped pave the way for a school record 684 total yards, including 365 passing and 319 rushing yards. Urbana's offense put up a school-record 74 points behind their performance in the trenches. Blue Knights Sufyan El-Geroushi, Alphonzo Berry, Jarred Seaver, Justin Carr and tight end David Webb also contributed to the effort.
