Great Midwest Athletic Conference Launches G-MACsports.com

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (July 30, 2012)  – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference, which was approved by the NCAA Division II Membership Committee in February of 2012, has officially launched its new online home, G-MACsports.com. The site features interactive content, as well as a place to follow your favorite conference institution.

G-MACsports.com will be the new conference site of Urbana University men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, baseball, softball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's cross country and volleyball.

“We are thrilled to launch the conference’s first official online home – G-MACsports.com,” said Kevin Alcox, Assistant Commissioner for Communications. “We are now able to provide the basic content required by a conference website with easy navigation throughout the site, but we have also taken full advantage of new technology and social media outlets to give our fans and our member institutions, a unique experience.”

Some of the traditional features of G-MACsports.com include standings, schedules, statistics, records, and awards for all active conference members. The site will also offer coverage of in-season action, as well as extensive coverage of the 12 conference season-ending tournaments.

G-MACsports.com will serve as a center for the conference’s many social media campaigns, including: Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Live Audio, Video and Stats, while also providing highlights, photo galleries and a conference store for championship gear (coming soon).

The conference worked with Sidearm Sports, the #1 provider in college athletic websites, to build and host G-MACsports.com. “Sidearm allowed us to create a web site that fits the needs of our conference, its members, and its fans,” said Alcox. “Not only does this site give us the opportunity to bring great coverage to all of our current members, but it will allow us to expand the coverage and online experience going forward. As the conference continues to grow, G-MACsports.com will continue to grow with it.”
