Life as a Blue Knight

On behalf of the entire Urbana University family, I would like to welcome you to our website and the home of Blue Knight athletics. Urbana University is proud to sponsor 15 athletic programs in one of the most beautiful geographic locations in the nation.

Although athletics is an integral part of our campus environment, it is the pride that we take in the development of the total person that we find most rewarding.

With so many college choices available to students today, I am often asked, "Why is Urbana University the right place for me?"  Most often, my answer is that the core attribute of NCAA Division II athletics, known as "Life in Balance", is carried out and practiced in all that we do.

At Urbana University it is universally accepted that all students and employees are equipped with a unique skill set of strengths and weaknesses. We constantly seek to accentuate those strengths and nurture those weaknesses in an effort to form a collective unified body of positive results. Our campus-wide slogan of "One Student at a Time" confirms our commitment to knowing each individual on a personal basis.  It's what makes success a reality and not merely just a dream at Urbana University.

Spearheaded by our move to the NCAA, we have created a culture of life in balance. This is not merely an athletics-only initiative but one that permeates our entire campus. The core attributes of life in balance are learning, service, passion, sportsmanship, and resourcefulness.  Together, these attributes form a collective bond for all that call Urbana University home. 

As our campus continues to grow, it is done with the constant mindset to provide more opportunities for student development and increased success. All the while it has provided the very foundation for school spirit, pride, and a will to achieve the very best for our student-athletes.

To be a Blue Knight student-athlete is to be a part of something truly unique and special. I am confident that you, as a student-athlete, alumni, colleague, or friend of Urbana University, will find your time here to be one of the most rewarding and meaningful portions of your life.
