Cross Country Concludes Season at G-MAC Run
For the first time in the Urbana University cross country programs' 5 years of existence, the Blue Knights ended their fall season at a conference championship meet. On Saturday morning at Cedarville University, the Blue Knights completed their first season under Head Coach Kevin Horne. Six runners competed for Urbana. Nationally ranked Cedarville won the men's and women's inaugural G-MAC Championships on their home course. 5 Blue Knights Set Personal Bests at WC
Oct. 12th, 2012In the fifth race of the fall season, five Blue Knight cross country runners ran personal bests at the Wilmington College Fall Classic on Friday night. Dylan McCubbin and Patrick Malloy on the men's side, and Jackie Smith, Jade Roark and Sara White from the women's team all broke personal records to pace the Blue Knights on a crisp autumn night. Neither team was able to log a team result as each ran a runner short of the five necessary to post a team score. However, the men's team average of 32:51.50 in the 8K would have been enough to defeat 3 of the 34 teams in the field, and the women's team average of 23:39.25 in the 5K was a season best and faster than at least one other team in the women's field. Brown Leads UU Men at All-Ohio Championships
Sep. 29th, 2012For the third consecutive race, a group of Urbana University women's cross country runners continued their assault on the Blue Knights' record books. Running at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Cedarville University, Blue Knights Jackie Smith, Jade Roark and Sara White all finished with Top 10 times in the program's five-year history. On the men's side, junior Josh Brown led the way for Urbana for the second race in a row. He edged teammate Dylan McCubbin by 29 seconds after beating him by just 11 seconds in their last race. Brown Proves He's the Man at Cedarville
Sep. 15th, 2012Second-year runner Josh Brown came out of nowhere to lead the Blue Knight men's cross country team on Saturday morning at the Cedarville University Friendship Invitational. Brown cut more than 3 minutes off his personal best in the men's 8K, which is equivalent to about 5 miles. Brown, who also plays guard for the Blue Knight men's basketball team, led the Blue Knight pack for the first time in his cross country career, crossing the finish line in 31:25.52, averaging about 6:19 per mile. McCubbin Leads Men's CC Pack at OWU
Sep. 8th, 2012On a record setting day for the Urbana University women's team, the men's cross country team also fared well at the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational on Saturday morning. With just 4 Blue Knights competing, Urbana was unable to field a team score in their first 8K of the 2012 season. For the second straight week, junior newcomer Dylan McCubbin led Urbana's pack.
