UU Can't Keep up with Top-Ranked Toppers
The #1 team in the country proved to be too much for the winless Urbana University men's basketball team on Saturday night. The top-ranked Hilltoppers from West Liberty University won their seventh straight game to start the season, and the Toppers topped triple digits for the sixth time in seven games, defeating the Blue Knights 108-83. A return to the Warren G. Grimes Center couldn’t help a reeling Urbana University men’s basketball team on Thursday night. The winless Blue Knights had another opponent on the ropes, but couldn’t close the deal in a 77-67 loss to the visiting Cardinals from Wheeling Jesuit University.
Urbana overcame a slow start to knot the game at 36-all at the break. Danny Goins scored the final five points of the half to help the Blue Knights close the gap. Goins gave Urbana its first lead of the night after opening the second half with back-to-back lay-ups. The senior guard finished with a game-high 26 points, including 17 in the second half, but the Blue Knights coughed up a late lead with more untimely turnovers. Read More

The Urbana University men's basketball team can't wait for December to begin so the team can put a forgettable November behind them. The Blue Knights finished the first month of the season 0-6 after a 77-52 road loss at Mercyhurst University on Saturday night.
Urbana needed 26 minutes to reach the 20-point plateau. Unfortunately, the Lakers weren't plagued by the same slow start. The home team put up 48 points over that time frame to build a commanding lead. The Blue Knights' bright spot was junior forward Ben Merritt. Merritt had a team-high 17 points on 8 of 11 shooting. Late Concord Run Keeps UU WinlessNov. 25th, 2013
The Urbana University men's basketball team got the start it needed to secure its first win of the 2013-14 season, but the Blue Knights couldn't hold off the Mountain Lions from Concord University on Monday afternoon. Concord ended the game on a 23-5 in front of its home crowd run to stun UU 73-66.
Urbana opened the game by scoring 20 of the first 27 points, a vast improvement on the 21 points the team scored in the first half at Virginia-Wise on Saturday. Slow Start Dooms Men's Basketball at UVa.-WiseNov. 23th, 2013
The Urbana University men's basketball team struggled out of the gates on the road in the team's Mountain East Conference opener on Saturday night. The Cavaliers from the University of Virginia-Wise held Urbana to just 21 first half points en route to an easy 76-48 victory.
Two Blue Knights reached double figures in the loss. Casey Baker led Urbana in scoring for the second time in the last three contests with 14 points on 5 of 8 shooting. Baker also pulled down a team-high 7 rebounds. Read More
