Her time is the 4th best in school history.WILMINGTON, Ohio (October 16, 2009) - The Urbana University women's cross country finished the fall season on Friday afternoon at the Wilmington Fall Classic.  The team was once again led by freshman Sara White (Fleming, Ohio/Warren Local HS).  Running in her first season of collegiate cross country, White paced the Blue Knights in all 5 of their fall runs.  She capped her sensational first season with a new school record and personal best in Friday's race.  White ran a 24:36, beating her previous best by 5 seconds in the 5K.

For just the second time in school history, the Blue Knights posted a team result with a full roster of 5 runners.  Freshman Jessica Thomas finished in 2nd for the Blue Knights, running a new personal best of 25:04.  Thomas' time is the 3rd fastest in the school's 2-year cross country history.  (White owns the top 2 times.)  Finishing 2 places and 4 seconds behind Thomas, was senior Chelsea Halderman (pictured).  Halderman's time of 25:08 is the 4th fastest time in school history, and Halderman's new personal best in her final collegiate race.

Rounding out the team scoring for the Blue Knights were sophomore Sarah St. Clair (30:37) and sophomore Latrice Burns (32:49).  Burns' trimmed almost 2 full minutes off her time in just her 2nd career race.

The Blue Knights' 2009 season is now complete.  The team made some great strides in 2009, including the program's first 2 team results.  Also, 9 of the program's top 10 times all came during the 2009 season.  Only Halderman's top race of 2008 remains in the top 10 fastest 5K times as the team continues to improve with each race.
