UU Cheerleading Program Announces 2nd Annual Cheerleading Competition December 5, 2010
The Urbana University Cheerleaders will host their 2nd Annual UU Cheerleading Competition on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the Warren G. Grimes Center on Urbana University's campus. Local high schools and middle schools are invited to compete in the Cheer & Dance and Hip Hop Dance divisions.
After a successful first year, the Blue Knight Cheerleaders hope to provide yet another small, fun and friendly competition for all local cheerleaders and their families/friends to enjoy.
Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the competition will start promptly at 10:15 a.m.
Admission Costs:
$6 for adults
$4 for children and seniors
Children under 5 years old are FREE
Urbana University students are FREE

UU Cheerleading Program Announces UU Cheerleading Alumni Society
The Blue Knight Cheerleading Program has announced the creation of the UU Cheerleading Alumni Society for all former Urbana University Cheerleaders. The Society will be used to benefit alumni by providing current updates on what is happening with the current Blue Knight cheerleading squad and a way to re-connect with alumni.
The Society welcomes all former squad members to join the squad again and be a part of something that was a part of you during your time with the Program. No matter how you ended your career with the squad, long or short, by choice or by circumstances, the Society wants you to feel welcome to be a part of the Program again.
This is the beginning of the Program's efforts to track down as many former members as possible and get a mailing/contact list started. The Society has wonderful plans for a newsletter, pictures online of former teams, published contact lists, and much more.

Steffie Lybeck Named Graduate Assistant
The Blue Knight Cheerleading Program is proud to name Steffie Lybeck as its first graduate assistant. Lybeck is a former Jonathan Alder High School and Urbana University cheerleader. She was captain of both football and basketball UU cheer squads during the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons. Lybeck graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration, minor in marketing. She will be continuing her education at Urbana University by pursuing a master's degree in business administration. She will also be the advisor for UU's Spirit Club and the main contact for the UU Cheerleading Alumni Society.
